A lot of these kinds of ops in Africa, mostly with turbo propeller twins...many twin Otters, for example. The DHC-6 can operate from 800 foot strips, with ease.

Set flaps to 30 degrees.
Hold brakes.
Set max power.
Release brakes and full back on the column.
Airborne in 400 feet or so, depending on weight, of course.
