Ramin asked me to share information about the airplane I am building.

The airplane is called Wheeler Express.    It is a 4 seat, experimental/ homebuilt airplane.  Some call it a kit, but this is a misnomer.   You end up building 80% of the project.   I have spent about 3000 hours in the past 6 years building the airplane.    In terms of size and performance, it is similar to a Lancair IV (fixed gear).

The gross weight of the airplane will be 3600 lbs.   It is fixed gear.  It should cruise in the neighborhood of 165-175 knts.

The engine is an experimental Lycoming IO-540 with a cold air intake (~315 hp, normally aspirated).

I am a few months away from first flight (hopefully before summer).

This is my second project.   The first one was a Long EZ.

The project is located at the EAA hanger at Camarillo airport.

Ali, thanks for the info and picture. I look forward to see your bird flying soon. Have you decided on your panels yet?

The panel is done. It took me two years to build the panel. Significant electrical wiring! I made this plane as an all electric airplane (no vacuum). It has duel electrical bus, with duel alternators. The panel is Garmin (Apollo) consisting of a Moving map (MX-20), CNX-80 (GNS-480, Nav/ com, GPS), Apollo Nav/com SL-30, Transpoder SL-70, & Audio panel SL-15, Trutrak 2 axis autopilot, Dynon EFIS, e
